Greetings Twain Families,

Let me begin by saying that I am excited and honored to have the opportunity to serve as Principal and work with the wonderful staff and community that is Twain Elementary School.  I have heard wonderful things about the families, teachers, classified staff, PTA, and community working together to provide an outstanding education for our students.

After School Supervision: UPDATE!!!

October 16, 2014

GREAT news! To date, we have secured enough funding to keep the playground open until 4:00 pm for the remainder of Semester 1.

  • Although the donations were able to cover one semester of after school supervision costs, we are still short of $2,735 for Semester 2.
  • If we fail to reach our projected goal for Semester 2 by December 19th 2014, we will have to close the playground at 3:00 pm. when school resumes on January 5th, 2015.
  • If you would like the playground to remain open until 4:00 pm for Semester 2, we highly encourage you to keep donating since funding is still needed for Semester 2.

Thank you to all of the many parents who donated money to keep the playground open until 4:00 pm.

Twain and Lowell Named Green Schools!

Green Award.jpg

Where are the greenest schools in America? Two of them are in Long Beach.

For the past five years, the U.S.  Department of Education has been trying to "inspire" schools to reduce their environmental impact and costs, improve the health and wellness of students and staff, and teach environmental skills. This year, Education Secretary Arne Duncan honored two Long Beach elementary schools with the Green Ribbon School Award. Read more.
